The
Sartell Lions Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to community
involvement and service in Sartell and the surrounding areas.
The Lions Club offers scholarship opportunities to local high
school students, provides for people in need of assistance with eye care,
and has provided life saving defibrillators to the local schools.
In 2000, with the mission of serving others in
mind, the Lions began construction on handicap accessible park. This park
is equipped with signage, trails and playground equipment for
sight-impaired and physically disabled children and adults as well as
their families. This park was
designed to meet the needs of all people in Sartell and the surrounding
communities. The next phase
for this project includes the construction of a shelter in the park.
This shelter could be used for community gatherings and
celebrations as well as for individual use.
To assist
with the fund raising efforts we are sponsoring a 5K and 1K on
June 21, 2008
. This run will take place in
Sartell starting and ending in the
Lions
Park
. Proceeds from this event
would be used to continue projects in the
Sartell
Lions
Park
and support other Lions projects within Sartell and surrounding area.
We are writing you to ask for your help
and support in making this event a success.
We are looking for donations from your organization to help offset
the cost of running this event.
Donations could include supplies needed on race day or a monetary
donation. Please consider
giving to this community wide effort.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
We would be happy to answer any questions you might have or meet
with you at your earliest convince to discuss your involvement in our
fundraising effort. Please
contact Al Moritz at 253-8778 with questions or to offer donations.
Sincerely,
Al Moritz
