SCRR on Facebook
We have both a Facebook Page and a Facebook Group. Each has its own purpose and advantages. Read below for a brief description of each.
Our Facebook Page
This is where we'll share official announcements and the content here provides a stream of information that shows up on the homepage. Our Facebook Page presents and introduces ourselves to potential new members and is viewable by the world. Current members can certainly provide feedback on content shared here, but this is our public presence on Facebook.
Our Facebook Group
The Facebook Group is for SCRR members and potential members. This is our place to interact with one another. Here we can easily share photos, comments, plan impromptu group runs, suggest a new race, cheer each other on, etc. The Group is a better place to ineteract with each other since email notifications are sent by default (settings can be changed on an individual basis) when new posts are made and we can control who can access the group.
Privacy & Security on Facebook
Concerned about privacy and security on Facebook? You are not alone. Fortunately, there's some guidelines you can follow to help protect yourself. Start with this— only share information and other items you are comfortable with others viewing. Beyond that simple advice, Facebook does provide ways for you to control who sees what. Facebook has created a helpful Guide to Facebook Security. Also, a third party group, Social Media Security, provides their own Facebook Security & Privacy Guide.
